PURPOSE:To easily change and expand a device by dividing the address space for controlling an I/O device which can be specified by a CPU into the maximum number of substrates to be mounted and using a specific address in the divided address space for reading out sort information including the sort of the mounted substrate. CONSTITUTION:The address space for controlling the I/O device is divided into the maximum number of substrates to be mounted and the divided address spaces are correspondingly allocated to respective mounting positions. In this case, the maximum number of substrates to be mounted is four, the original address space is divided into four address spaces and the divided address spaces are an address space 41a for a mounting position #1(41), an address space 41b for a mounting position #2(42), an address space 43a for a mounting space #3(43), and an address space 44a for a mounting position #4(44). When the CPU specifies the leading addresses of respective address spaces, the leading addresses are inputted to a comparator 92. When set address information coincides with the leading address, the coincident output is applied to an output circuit 94 and a sort number stored in a register 93 is outputted to a data bus.
