PURPOSE:To adequately calculate the performance of a reactor core at the time of an AFC operation by changing the processing of data according to the presence or absence of an AFC request from a central power feed command station and estimating the heat output of an reactor core from an average output range monitor. CONSTITUTION:The heat output of the reactor core is calculated by a heat output calculator 15 from the heat balance in accordance with the data in the absent state of the AFC request signal from the central power feed command station to determine the conversion coefft. with an average output range monitor signal. The heat output of the reactor core at the time of calculating the output distribution is calculated in accordance therewith. A filter incorporated with the delay corresponding to the time constant of the heat transmission of fuel rods is applied to the average output range monitor signal to be used for calculating the heat output of the reactor core so as to correspond to the surface flow flux of the fuel rods and, therefore, the quantity of the heat flowing into a coolant is correctly evaluated without calculating the thermoelectric power of the reactor core from the transient response of a neutron flux.
