PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a lap flaw on a wound coil and to abbreviate a hot rolling refining equipment by winding a rolled stock after removing the folding part at the tip of the rolled stock by the shear provided at the pinch roll upper stream of a down coiler. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of a rolled stock 2 reaches a position detecting gage 16 and speedometer 15, the signal showing the pass of the tip of the rolled stock 2 and that showing the passing speed are transmitted to a control device 17, which calculates the work time of a shear 12 and transmits a work signal as well. The rolled stock 2 whose shape is well-regulated by cutting the tip having defective shape parts, etc., and removing the tip is wound on the shear by a No.1 down coiler 5 through No.1 side guide 3 and No.1 pinch roll 4. Or it is wound by a No.2 down coiler 8 through No.2 side guide 6 and No.2 pinch roll 4.
