PURPOSE:To obtain a cation exchange body having high selective exchangeability for cations, particularly potassium ions, by allowing cyclic polyether groups to coexist together with cation exchange groups as the cation exchange body. CONSTITUTION:As a cation exchange body, particularly a cation exchange body which selectively exchanges and adsorbs potassium ions, cation exchange grups and cylic polyether groups coexist in a molecule and the infrared absorbing bands of 1,260cm<-1> and 1,220cm<-1> based on the cyclic polyether groups are provided. Since such ion exchange body has high selectivity among alkali metal ions, and has functionability as well, it has applications for separation of alkali metal ions an sea water and waste water. |
