PURPOSE:To locate an accident point with extremely high reliability by providing a slave station and processing a signal which needs to be processed at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:If an accident occurs at a certain point on a power cable 1, an accident pulse arrives sensors SE1 and SE2 of respective terminal parts at the same time when the accident point is right at the center part, but has a difference in arrival time when not. Those sensors detect the accident pulse and stop pulse counters C1 and C2 counting pulses at the same time with pulse counting s top signals from signal generators PG1 and PG2 of slave stations S1 and S2, so there is a difference (zero when the accident point is at the center part) generated between their pulse counted values. Those pulse counted values are sent to the central processing unit CPU of a master station S0 and the accident point is detected from the difference in pulse counted value.
