PURPOSE:To lead exhaust gas into a purifier without lowering the temperature thereof so as to enhance the purifying performance of the purifier by forming the body of an exhaust manifold with a ceramic member, and by wrapping the ceramic member with a heat-resistant resin member. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust manifold 1 is composed of an exhaust manifold body 2 formed of a ceramic member having a low thermal conductivity, and a heat-resistant resin member 3 wrapping the exhaust manifold body 2. In this arrangement, the ceramic member forming the exhaust manifold body 2 is made of a material having a porosity large as possible and a low thermal conductivity so as to enhance the heat insulating effect. Meanwhile, in order to compensate the fragility of the ceramic member, the exhaust manifold body 2 is wrapped with the resin member 3 so as to enhance the durability. With this arrangement, the exhaust gas discharged from the engine may be led into a purifier without lowering the temperature of exhaust gas, thereby it is possible to enhance the purifying performance.
