摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer material having excellent blocking resistance while maintaining favorable printing characteristics, by providing a topcoat layer comprising a mixture of a wax with a resin on a heat-fusible ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible ink layer 3 is provided on a releasable layer 2 provided on a base 1. A topcoat layer 4 comprising a mixture of a wax (which is a main constituent) with a resin and having a melting point of 70-100 deg.C is provided on the ink layer 3. The wax is preferably a high melting point wax, in order to set the melting point of the mixture to within the range of 70-100 deg.C. The resin may be, for example, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer. The mixing ratio of the wax and the resin is preferably 80:20-97:3 by weight. The thickness of the topcoat layer is preferably 0.5-1.5 mum. The wax-resin mixture constituting the topcoat layer of this thermal transfer material preferably has a melt viscosity at 120 deg.C of 1-300 P.
