摘要 PURPOSE:To perform an aspheric surface machining with high accuracy and efficiency by running an electricity conductive wire by means of a running mechanism on a certain curvature with respect to a work and positioning the wire and the wire running mechanism in orthogonal directions by means of a straight line positioning mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Considering a curvature r of a wire 20 caused by a wire guide 19, straight line positioning tables 3, 14 are selectively moved by motors 5, 16, electrical discharge machining point P of a work 9 and the wire 20 are moved relatively in the directions of x and z, and the work 9 is machined into an aspheric surface shape by the discharge with a discharge circuit 23. At this time, the work 9 is rotated at a high speed to be positioned always to maintain a discharge gap for the wire 20. The work 9 is also fixed at a certain rotated position to perform a gradual cutting process in the z direction. The work 9, while being rotated by a very small angle, is then electrical dis charge machined in the circumferential direction while reeling out the wire 20. In this way, the aspheric surface shape machining of a mold can be performed with ease and high accuracy as well as efficiency.
