PURPOSE:To make it possible to recover power energy from exhaust energy with a simple structure by feeding a part of supercharged air fed to a Diesel- engine into a pneumatic motor coupled to the output shaft of the Diesel-engine or the like. CONSTITUTION:A Diesel-engine 1 has a supercharger composed of an exhaust turbine 7 and an air compressor 10. Accordingly, when exhaust gas from the Diesel-engine 1 is introduced into an exhaust turbine 7, the latter is rotated, and the air compressor 10 is also rotated through the intermediary of a shaft 9, and therefore supercharged air is fed into the Diesel-engine 1 through an air cooler 14. In this arrangement the pneumatic motor 3 is coupled to the output shaft 12 of the Diesel-engine 1. Meanwhile, an outlet pipe 11 from the air compressor 10 is connected to a flow regulator valve 16 through a feed pipe 13. Further, a part of supercharged air from the air compressor 10 is fed into the air motor 3 through the flow regulator valve 16 so as to drive a predetermined load device 5.
