PURPOSE:To prepare a lubricating oil which has a sufficient viscosity, a high viscosity index, and excellent compatibility with flon and can contribute to stabilization of flon, by incorporating particular polysiloxane in a lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:The title lubricating oil is prepd. by selecting at least part of the methyl groups of a dimethylpolysiloxane from at least two groups out of three groups, i.e., a 2-40C alkyl group (A), an aryl group (B), and a group represented by R in the following groups, and incorporating at least 2wt.% modified silicone oil having a kinetic viscosity of 10-5,000cSt at 40 deg.C and substd. with at least one of each group. R is -R1, -R2OH, -R2OR3, a group of formula I, II, III or IV (wherein R1 is an alkylaryl or the like; R2 is an alkylene or the like; R3 and R4 are each H, an alkyl, or the like). This lubricating oil has a sufficient viscosity, a high viscosity index, and excellent compatibility with flon and contribute to stabilization of flon, which renders the lubricating oil excellent as a lubricating oil for a refrigerator. It may be also used as a hydraulic oil, a metal working oil, an engine oil, and a gear oil. |
