PURPOSE:To prevent cracks from being generated when a plate is folded along a hinge and finish the angle of folding straight and beautiful by forming a V-shaped channel along the hinge in a cavity of a foaming synthetic plate and compressing and deepening said V-shaped channel by means of a sliding mold having the V-shaped channel in the latter half of a cooling process in which the plate is still in the mold. CONSTITUTION:Beads (raw materials) constituted of a foaming agent mixed in a cavity 3 are filled in the raw material filling process, and a sliding mold 6 with a V-shaped section 5 at its end is thrust shallowly into the cavity 3. When the filling of raw materials is completed, molds 1 and 2 are heated to foam the raw materials in the cavity, and at that time, the sliding mold 6 is retracted upward and released from the cavity. By said arrangement, the raw materials in the cavity are foamed to increase the volume by heating the molds 1 and 2, and particularly in the section forming a hinge, the raw materials come into the lower section of slit 4 closed at its head with the sliding mold 6 and foam sufficiently. Then, the cooling process is carried out by cooling the molds 1 and 2. In the latter half of said process, the sliding mold 6 is advanced downward and thrust into the cavity deeply to complete the cooling process, and a molded foaming synthetic resin plate is released from the cavity by opening the molds 1 and 2. |
