PURPOSE:To compress the information on a 2-dimensional binary pattern without depending on the input/output accuracy of an input/output device, by atandardizing and coding the run lengths of horizontal and vertical directions of the 2- dimensional binary pattern in the form of binary numbers. CONSTITUTION:The 1st line of a 2-dimensional binary pattern in a memory 901 is stored in a line buffer 904 via a memory control part 905. The run is extracted out of the buffer 904 by a run length extracting part 906. The extracted run is standardized at a run length converting part 907 in binary numbers and then coded at a coding part 908 to be fed to a synthesizing part 912. At the same time, the line position is detected at a line detecting part 909. The output of the part 909 is sent to the part 912 via a position converting part 910 and a coding part 911. The output synthesized at the part 912 is stored in a memory 913. |
