PURPOSE:To display a video image from the same location of a display screen even when the generating sources for both image signals differ from each other by providing a means storing the initial value at write, a means storing the initial value at readout ind an initial value setting means. CONSTITUTION:An input video signal is written in a storage element 1 and a readout signal from the storage element 1 is sent to a display device as an output video signal. A counter 2 decides an address to the storage element 1, a means 4-1 stores the initial value at write and a means 4-2 stores the initial value at readout. In detecting a synchronizing signal at the write mode, an initial value setting means 3 sets the initial value of the means 4-1 to the counter 2 and in detecting the synchronizing signal at the readout mode, the initial value of the means 4-2 is set to the counter 2. Thus, it is possible to match the display position of the reproduced picture in the unit of picture element with respect to a video signal from plural number of picture signal generating sources where the location of synchronizing signals are not unified.
