PURPOSE:To enable reduction of the capacity of a drive motor and thereby obtain a dot printer capable of high-speed printing and with a low noise level by connecting a printing head and a printing pin drive part with a flexible guide and storing a linear printing pin inside the flexible guide. CONSTITUTION:A drive belt 3 which runs by a drive motor 2 along a platen 1 of a dot printer, and a printing head 4 is mounted on the drive belt 3. Further, a printing pin drive part 5 is fixed at a point away from the printing head 4. The printing head 4 and the printing pin drive part 5 are connected with a flexible guide 6, and a linear printing pin 8 is inserted into a hollow part 7 formed in the flexible guide 6. The tip of this printing pin 8 is introduced into the printing head 4 and the predetermined printing pin 8 is allowed to protrude through a guide hole in which the printing head 4 is provided. Then the printing pin 8 is allowed to hit printing paper 10 wound around the platen 1 through a printing carbon 9 to print predetermined characters. |
