A roof rack system for a vehicle provided with a roof rear spoiler (4) comprises a railing, which is connected fixedly to the vehicle and comprises two supports (1), and a plurality of supporting rods (10), which extend between the supports and can be removed when not in use. In order then not to have to store the supporting rods (10) in the vehicle interior but nevertheless to have them constantly ready to hand, it is proposed to design the spoiler (4) as a hollow part and in its interior (5), which is accessible from the outside through a flap (8), to provide a device (9) for storing the supporting rods (10) when they are not required. <IMAGE>
