PURPOSE:To reduce the setting time of numbered vehicles at the time of-varying the formation of vehicles by independently providing each numberedvehicle setting signal wiring between each arithmetic unit of formed vehicles and connecting the arithmetic units between the rearmost vehicle and the forefront vehicle with a signal wiring and a numbered-vehicle setting signal wiring via an information output device. CONSTITUTION:Numbered-vehicle numbers are set on the vehicles from the forefront No.1 vehicle to the rearmost No. (n) vehicle in order through signal wirings 8a-8 (n-1) and, at that time, the numbered-vehicle number is stored in each memory 13a-13n in each arithmetic unit 7a-7n of each vehicle. And, the numbered-vehicle number (n) of the rearmost vehicle is answered back to an input control part 10 through a signal wiring 9 and is compared with the total number n' of formed vehicles which are previously stored in a memory 13 and, when n=n', the setting of each numbered-vehicle is judged normal and the following action is taken. When nnot equal to n', judgment is formed that any of the arithmetic units 7a-7n of the numbered vehicles is abnormal and a circuit check is carried out. Hence, the numbered-vehicle number of each vehicle in the formed vehicles can be set automatically, reducing the setting time of the numbered vehicles at the time of varying the formation of vehicles while preventing a setting error.
