PURPOSE:To improve the dealability of a toner with development so that even fine lines, etc., of low contrast can be satisfactorily developed by forming an agitating magnet which forms a repulsive magnetic field to a developing magnetic pole and forms an attraction magnetic field to a magnet body disposed on the upper stream side of the developing magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:The agitating magnet 32 which forms the repulsive magnetic field to the developing magnetic pole disposed to face a developing region among the magnet bodies 26-30 disposed in a developer supporting member 22 and forms the attraction magnetic field to the magnet body 26 disposed on the upper stream side in the magnetic brush conveying direction of the developing magnetic pole 27 and on the down stream side of a developer control member 24 is provided. The rotation and agitation of the developer are, therefore, executed when the magnetic brush is largely napped by the attraction magnetic field of the magnet 32 and thereafter the developer is again dropped to the developer supporting member 22 side. The magnetic field for conveying the developer is weakened by the repulsive magnetic field of the magnet 32 at this time. The developer is thereby brought into a loosened state and the dealability of the toner with the development is extremely improved.
