In a method of producing a thin-walled sleeve, a blank sleeve is machined. So that the thin-walled sleeve can be produced with highly accurate dimensions in a relatively short machining time, the method is carried out according to the following steps: - finish machining of the circumference of the blank sleeve, - making an outer sleeve with two guide surfaces in its bore which lie at an axial distance from one another, - connecting the outer sleeve to a shell which has a concentric shell surface for tightly enclosing and axially supporting a reference circumference of an end of the blank sleeve in its bore, - fitting the blank sleeve with the reference circumference into the shell surface of the shell so that an annular space is formed between the blank sleeve and the outer sleeve, - pouring a curable, liquid plastic into the annular space between the blank sleeve and the outer sleeve, - allowing the plastic to cure in the annular space with corresponding fixed combining of the blank sleeve with the outer sleeve, - rough and fine machining of the bore of the blank sleeve so that a finish-machined, thin-walled sleeve results, and - separating the thin-walled sleeve from the outer sleeve by axial expulsion. |
