A machine for bending round bars or similar metal elements has a supporting structure, a platform which is mounted on the supporting structure in such a way that it can be rotated about an essentially vertical axis, a central stop stud arranged coaxially on the platform, an eccentric stud which is carried by the platform and can be rotated together with the platform about the central stud, and stop means which are arranged on the said supporting structure and, when the platform is rotated, can interact with the central stud and the eccentric stud to bend the round bars. The stop means consist of a pair of movable stop elements (42) which are mounted on the supporting structure (10a) in such a way that they can assume a working position and a rest position, and of driving means (48) for moving the stop elements (42) between the working position and the rest position. <IMAGE>
