Device for coating profiles with powder

Profiles are coated with powder by means of an electrostatic or electrokinetic application process as they pass horizontally through a coating chamber which to ensure the safety of the system in respect of risk of explosion has a minimum chamber volume. To avoid coating errors through accumulations of powder falling from the chamber walls, the coating chamber, which is in operative connection to a device for the application of mechanical impulses, is arranged resiliently in a particular manner on leaf springs. The leaf springs are inclined with respect to the direction of passage at an angle of 8-25@ to the vertical. The ratio of the spraying-chamber weight to the spring force counteracting this weight is, in relation to 2 mm spring deflection, 1:10 to 1:30.
