The labelling machine intended for the multiple labelling of drinks bottles by the continuous-flow method essentially consists of a conveying device (10) for the bottles (38), a plurality of dispensing devices (14, 14') for self-adhesive labels (16, 16'), a label-transfer drum (18) equipped with a plurality of elastically flexible transfer segments (32) and a separation and abutment worm (12) located opposite the transfer drum (18). The dispensing edges (28, 28') of the various dispensing devices (14, 14') are oriented and arranged next to the transfer drum (18) in such a way that the self-adhesive labels (16, 16') can be placed in any way desired, even in a mutually overlapping arrangement, on the transfer segments (32) provided with vacuum orifices (36) for the temporary retention of the labels. While the transfer drum (18) is rotating past, the transfer segments (32), consisting of an elastically flexible material, are pressed, together with the labels (16, 16'), against the bottles (38) transported on the conveying device, so that the labels, with their adhesive faces pointing outwards, are affixed to the bottle surfaces. During further transport, the bottles (38) pass into a repressing station (20, 22), in which the affixed labels are pressed against the bottle surface over their entire area. <IMAGE>
