PURPOSE:To improve the gloss of an exposed image part by incorporating specific planar silver halide particles into a silver halide emulsion layer and specifying the swelling degree of the emulsion layer to a specific value or above. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide particles incorporated into the silver halide emulsion layer contain the planar silver halide particles having the average diameter ranging 0.2-0.6mum and >=5 average aspect ratio and the swelling degree of the emulsion layer is >=3. The average grain sizes of the planar silver halide particles are particularly preferably 0.3-0.55mum, more preferably >=7 and <=50, and more particularly preferably >=8 and <=20. The gloss of the exposed image part is thereby improved. |
