An extruder for the processing of rubber and thermoplastic is disclosed, with a screw which can turn in a barrel and is arranged with its tip at a distance from the central outlet opening. By the arrangement of one or more rows of pins with pins between the screw end and the outlet opening or the dies of the extruder, the said pins being aligned with the longitudinal centre axis of the screw barrel and penetrating the latter radially, the effect is achieved that a very homogeneous, uniform-temperature and bubble-free extrusion of the materials to be processed is obtained.
