PURPOSE:To faithfully reproduce a re-transmission page from the transmission side by returning a negative answer for all the pages in a window size WS in the event of an error. CONSTITUTION:Upon the receiving of an image information from the opposite facsimile equipment through a line, a line controller 6 transmits the image information to an encoder/decoder 4. Upon receiving the information, the encoder/decoder 4 decodes it, and decides the presence/absence of an error. In the event of an error, the line ccntroller 6 returns a response RDPBN for images equal to the quantity of a window size WS. Thereafter, an image information retransmitted from the opposite facsimile terminal is outputted by a recorder 3 in accordance with procedures for printing.
