PURPOSE:To efficiently remove harmful gas and non-metallic inclusion in molten metal by blowing inert gas, by rotating gas blowing pipe inserted into molten metal treating vessel and at the same time, revolving the above pipe to the center of the molten metal treating vessel. CONSTITUTION:The inert gas blowing pipe 16 attaching the lance 15 at the end part thereof is inserted into the molten metal 1 in a furnace 2 and rotated by driving a motor 12 through connector 14. Together with this, by driving the motor 10 through gears 6, 8, the supporting table 11 is revolved together with the rotating table 7. By this method, the above pipe 16 fitted to the supporting table 11 is revolved to the center of the furnace 2. Under this condition, the inert gas is supplied from the blowing hole 13 and blown into the molten metal 1 from the above lance 15 having reversed taper widening downward. By this method, this inert gas is uniformly and finely widespread in the whole furnace 2 and the contacting area between the gas and the molten metal 1 is increased and removing efficiency of the harmful gas of hydrogen, etc., and non-metallic inclusion is rapidly improved.
