PURPOSE:To quickly suppress the generation of unarrival notice and a stray pulse to be derived when topology is divided into many pieces by providing a topology information table in a packet switching network controller, and retrieving it. CONSTITUTION:The combinations of faulty locations caused by the division of topology such as groups of packet switching equipments A-H divided by the combination of relay lines 7e, 7f and the faulty location, e.g., {A, B, C, D}, {E, F, G, H} are described in a topology information table 3 and incorporated in a packet switching network controller 1. In receiving the fault report, the packet switching network controller 1 displays it on a display device 2, and applies topology check processing. That is, the controller 1 retrieves the topology information table 3. Thus, the stray packet to be generated when the topology of the packet switching network and the delivery of unarrival notice are restricted quickly.
