PURPOSE:To obtain the titled emulsion outstanding in flexibility, smoothness and film-formability, useful as a textile sizing agent, by emulsion polymerization, in the presence of an alkaline catalyst, between a plural of specific organosilicon compound and organosilane followed by neutralization. CONSTITUTION:(A) An organosilicon compound of average unit of formula I [R<1> is 1-20C monovalent hydrocarbon group; R<2> is OX (X is H or 1-6C monovalent hydrocarbon group); a is such as to be 0<a<=3, b is such as to be 0<=b<3, both satisfying the relationship: 1<=a+b<=3], (B) a second organosilicon compound of average unit of formula II (R<3> is N-contg. monovalent hydrocarbon; c is such as to be 0<c<=3, d is such as to be 0<=d<3, both satisfying the relationship: 1<=c+d<=3) and (C) either of organosilane of formula III and a condensate by partial hydrolysis thereof are emulsified and dispersed in water in the presence of a cationic surfactant and nonionic one followed by carrying out emulsion polymerization in the presence of an alkaline catalyst and neutralizing the resultant reaction mixture, thus obtaining the objective emulsion.
