PURPOSE:To obtain the titled prepolymer, consisting of a condensation reaction product having a specific hydroxyl group-containing (Meth)acrylate, melamine and, as necessary, other hydroxyl group-containing compounds and capable of providing films having excellent hardness, flexibility, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed prepolymer consisting of a condensation reaction product consisting of (A) a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylate expressed by the formula (R<1> is H or CH3; R<2> is 2-6C alkylene; R<3> is 4-7C straight-chain alkylene; m and n are integers of 1-5), (B) melamine having >=3 methylol or alkoxymethyl groups and, as necessary, (C) hydroxyl group-containing organic compounds other than the component (A). Furthermore, this prepolymer is used in curable resin compositions.
