In the case of fans, in particular for air-conditioning rooms, it may prove to be necessary to continuously deliver a constant volume flow from a fan. According to the invention, in the region of an outflow channel (4) of a fan (2) there is provided an outlet channel (5) which can be opened and closed by means of a closing element (11), the closing element (11) being actuated as a function of the measured value of a volume flow-measuring device (8) which can be arranged downstream of a filter device (12). The invention can be used in all types of air-conditioning systems.
