A connecting and joining sleeve for flexible tubes has at least two diametrically opposed flaps which engage in the walls of the sleeve and can be swivelled about axes which are in the wall region, and which can be locked in the closing position, clamping pieces being arranged in the region of the inner surfaces of the flaps, which clamping pieces in the closing position point toward the inside of the sleeve, extend perpendicularly to the sleeve axis, pass through the sleeve wall and in the closing position rest on the outer circumference of the flexible tube to be connected. The connecting and joining sleeve is to be constructed in such a manner that it can be used universally, that is to say can be used not only for the connection or junction of ribbed protective or insulating flexible tubes but also for mounting flexible tubes and/or cables which have a smooth surface. To this end, according to the invention, provision is made for the clamping pieces to be constructed as locking elements which engage in the circumferential grooves of ribbed protective flexible tubes or as pressure pieces which rest with initial tension on the outer surface of flexible tubes which have a smooth surface, and for the clamping pieces to be fastened in an exchangeable manner on the inner surface of the flaps.
