The apparatus according to the invention for evaporating liquid essentially serves to humidify other rooms, but preferably as an accessory in any sauna cabin. The auxiliary device for evaporating liquid essentially serves for operating a combined bath/sauna/steam bath in which the climate can be adjusted as desired by the switch mechanisms, e.g. as sauna operation, approximately 90@C, or as steam bath operation at a temperature of approximately 40-45@C and relative air humidity of approximately 40-60%. It comprises a closed container (8) which at one of its ends has outlet orifices (15) for the steam and, in a wall opposite to the outlet orifices, has air entry orifices (14 and 18). Owing to the type of mounting at a distance (13) to the wall (1), additional fresh air supply results. Between the outlet orifices (15) and the entry orifices (18 and 4) are formed guide vanes (16) having a roof-shaped, roughly semicircular or similar cross-section. This arrangement achieves an intensive atmospheric water vapour flow within the container (8). The orifice cross-section of the inlet orifices (18) can be changed by means of a covering slider (17), actuatable from the outside, which has corresponding bore holes (18). An electrical heater (22) ensures the evaporation of the liquid (20) charged into the container (8). <IMAGE>
