IMPROVEMENT IN YEAST EXPRESSION VECTOR AND PRODUCTION OF USEFUL SUBSTANCE USING TRANSFORMANT CONTAINING IMPROVED EXPRESSION VECTOR

PURPOSE:To obtain an yeast expression vector, having a sequence of specific base pairs and/or positive regulator gene GAL4 within a peripheral region on the 3'-side of an yeast gene GAL7 gene as a transcription end sequence and capable of increasing production efficiency of a desired protein. CONSTITUTION:A modified yeast expression vector obtained by integrating a transcription end sequence consisting of part or all of 328 base pairs surrounded by each cleavage site of SalI and XbaI within a peripheral region on the 3'-side of GAL7 gene and/or positive regulator gene GAL4 into an expression vector utilizing a control region of the GAL7 gene. The transcription end sequence and GAL4 gene are linked to the downstream side of the gene to be expressed. A host yeast (preferably Saccharomyces cerevisiae and relative species) is transformed with the above-mentioned expression vector linked to an exogenote and used to express an optional polypeptide.
