PURPOSE:To improve the detection accuracy of a waveform distortion component included in an incoming video signal by ensuring a reference level by differentiation and integration processing in extracting the waveform distortion component with respect to a reference signal. CONSTITUTION:A differentiation means 8 differentiating a pulse signal included in an output video signal of a filter means so as to obtain a prescribed pulse width, a detection means 9 extracting a reference signal part from the differentiation signal obtained by the differentiation means, and an integration means 10 integrating the extracted output signal obtained by the extraction means by using an integration time constant nearly the same as the differentiation time constant of the differentiation means are provided. In case of extracting a waveform distortion component with respect to the reference signal, the reference level is ensured by the differentiating and integrating processing to improve the detection accuracy of the waveform distortion included in the incoming video signal.
