A polyethylene stabilizer composition comprises: A) one or more compounds with piperidine groups of the formula (I) or (Ia) in which R is hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, allyl, benzyl, acetyl, acryloyl, 2-hydroxyethyl or 2-hydroxypropyl and B) one or more metal compounds such as oxides and hydroxides of Al, Mg and Zn and, if appropriate, one or more salts of Al, Ba, Ca, Mg, Sr and Zn with C1-C22-carboxylic acids.
