PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic, containing an N-(2,3-xylyl)anthranilic acid ester derivative, mild to the skin and effective in preventing and treating pimples. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic obtained by containing a compound expressed by the formula (R is pyridyl-substituted lower alkyl or 2-furanmethyl), e.g. 2- pyridylmethyl N-(2,3-xylyl)anthranilate, in an amount of about 0.001-10wt.% in the cosmetic. The above-mentioned cosmetic is effective against pimples and further psoriasis, skin roughening, etc., by anti-inflammatory effects of the compound expressed by the formula. |
