The material processed comprises 20 per cent thermoplastic fibres, 74 per cent cellulose fibres, and 6 per cent water, and with a gram wt. of 300 g/m2. The air used to heat the material is heated to a temp. of 180 deg. C., and the heat energy required to heat a square metre of material from room temp. to 100 deg. C. is approximately 30 kW. The energy to evaporate the water is approximately 40 kW, and that for heating the material from 100 deg. C. to 132 deg. C. is approximately 12.7 kW. Smelting energy for the thermoplastic is approximately 25 kW. The air current used to heat the material is controlled so that its flow speed increases continuously in the material strip running direction. |
