<p>In a method of separating a glass panel and a glass body of a cathode ray tube, the panel and body being secured together by an adhesive that comprises a frit and a binder that is susceptible to attack by nitric acid, the tube is at least partially immersed in a bath containing nitric acid such that at least the junction of the panel and body is immersed in the acid, and the acid is subjected to ultrasonic excitation, for example by transducers disposed in the acid in the bath.</p> |
