<p>A mold for continuous casting of aluminum strips consists of an indirectly cooled part with a jacketed contact surface between the mold wall and the cast strip, and of a directly cooled part with gridlike contact area having openings for cooling agent jets in the grooves between the grids with tapered contact surfaces of the grids. The width of the feed zone of the cast strip is less than 0.5 mm. The mold is particularly useful for the casting of aluminum alloys of the type AlMg, AlMgMn, AlMn and AlMgSi.</p> |
