PURPOSE:To enable production of a high-purity product by simple high- temperature heating, by producing a sintered material consisting of a specific composition of SiO2, P2O5 and CaO by gelatinizing a specific silicic acid ester in the presence of a specific phosphorus compound and a Ca salt. CONSTITUTION:A sintered material consisting of 20-70wt.% SiO2, >=1wt.%, >5.7 atomic ratio Ca/P of Ca and P and >=70% sum of SiO2, P2O5 and CaO is produced. In producing the sintered material, one or more silicic acid esters shown by formula I are gelatinized in the presence of one or more compounds shown by formulas II-IV, a Ca salt or a Ca alkoxide shown by formula V. The gel is dried, heat-treated and then the prepared powder is molded and sintered. In the formula I - formula, V, R1-R4 are each H, CxH2x+1 (OC2H4)y (x=1-5 and y=0-10) and all are not H; n=0-20; R5-R7 are each H, 1-5C alkyl, phenyl or 7-10C aralkyl; m=0-10; R8 is 1-5C alkyl). |
