PURPOSE:To perform effective crown control from thin stocks to thick stocks having a narrow width or a wide width by installing rolling stands having a larger crown control capability than that of rear rolling stands of a hot finishing mill in a hot mill group on the front stage of the hot finishing mill. CONSTITUTION:A rolling mill group having a crown control capability by strong benders is installed in rear stands F4-F7 of a hot finishing mill F1-F7 and a rolling mill group having a more crown control capability by more stronger benders is installed in front stands F1-F3. A crown control mill to be installed in the front mill group is installed in the final stand R4 of a rough rolling mill to obtain a prescribed crown control capability.
