PURPOSE:To reduce a production cost by forming the engagement part of the final shape in V-shaped or reverse V-shaped cross-section on a plate by the roll forming at the initial stage and forming in order the remaining part by the roll forming at the middle and final stages. CONSTITUTION:The engagement part P3 of V-shaped or reverse V-shaped cross- section consisting of an orthogonal piece P3a and inclined piece P3b is subjected to roll forming for the plate P0 to be formed. In this case, the forming is gradually executed and completely up to the final shape as well. A crest-like part P2 and bottom part P1 are then formed by the roll forming at middle and final stages. In this case, the engagement part P3 passes through the gap between rolls to prevent the breakdown, At the final stage of the roll forming the side part inclined face P2a and end part engaging part P3' of the plate P0 to be formed are formed. Since the work is executed only by the roll forming in a simple shape and the change in the shape and dimension of a product can be done by the partial change in the roll equipment the production cost is reduced.
