PURPOSE:To rapidly collect a large amount of diagnostic information, by issuing the start up request of self-diagnosis from the local facsimile equipment of a center to a remote facsimile equipment, and collecting the result of the self- diagnosis from the remote facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:The local facsimile equipment A is provided at the center. The start up request of the self-diagnosis is issued from the local facsimile equipment A to the remote facsimile equipment B via a coupler 6. The remote facsimile equipment B sends the result of the self-diagnosis to the local facsimile equipment A. The local facsimile equipment A collects the sent result of the self-diagnosis.
