CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 16 drives a ring circuit 34C by a call coming from a trunk line or the like and a ringing tone is set. The control circuit 16 stops the ringing tone by the ringing circuit 34C, a reply detection circuit 27 does not detect that a called party hooks off for the reply or the caller does not stop its calling till the count result of a ring count section 16A reaches a predetermined value, when the count result reaches a predetermined value, and uses a connection switch Y11 to connect once the caller set to the destination set and then interrupts the set thereby setting the telephone system 10 again into the standby state. Thus, the occupancy of the trunk line and talking line by the caller and the ringing for a long time in the event of the called party not responding to the call are prevented.
