PURPOSE:To perform reading and printing at different timing, by detecting the scanning speed of a printing means, and setting the speed of the printing means corresponding to the scanning speed at the time of printing an image in a picture memory by scanning on a printing material by the printing means. CONSTITUTION:A read cassette 1a is moved on an original A in a direction of arrow head G, and the image is read by a sensor 6 by rotating a feed roller 4 and an auxiliary roller 5, and the image is stored in the memory of a control part. By bringing the feed roller 8 and the auxiliary roller 9 of a print cassette 1b into contact with a roll paper 13 drawn out from a form cassette 1c and scanning a main body 1 in a print direction, the printing is performed on the roll paper 13 by the printing means 10 and 11. The scanning speed of the printing means is detected from the rotation of the feed roller 8, and the speed of the printing means 1b can be set corresponding to the scanning speed. In such a way, it is not required to perform the reading and the printing simultaneously, but to perform the printing on a various kinds of printing materials is enabled.
