PURPOSE:To attain the interconnection without addition of any special constitution even in equipments having different processing data formats by providing a device compressing/expanding the data to the titled system. CONSTITUTION:A terminal equipment inputting/outputting a data, a storage device storing the transferred data, a gateway device 15 connected to a public line network and applying data communication control with other system via the said public line network, a data converter 16 applying data compression/ expansion processing are connected through a communication medium. An identification code 18 specific to nodes 1-6 is given to the network and data communication is applied according to the identification code. Thus, the data having a destination address sent from the terminal equipment 13 is subject to compression processing by MMR, for example, in the converter 16 and transferred to the gateway 16.
