PURPOSE:To manufacture an oxide type superconductive wire in a simple process by packing a mixture of plural specific types of powders in a covering tube, and melting them together with the covering tube gradually from one end under a condition where both ends of the covering tube are sealed up, to draw into a fine wire. CONSTITUTION:A mixture 1 of plural types of powders of oxide type compound superconductors is accommodated in a covering tube 2 which is formed of a material of a melting temperature same as that of the mixture 1, and then both ends of the tube 2 are sealed up. After that, the sealed-up body is heated and molten gradually from one end to draw into a fine wire. As the plural types of powders, at least one type of oxide powder of yttrium, erbium, dysprocium, samarium, gadolinium, holmium, neodymium, yetteribium, thulium, and lutetium; barium hydroxide powder and copper oxide powder are used. As the tube 2, a quartz tube is used. |
