PURPOSE:To reset a desired electronic device by remote control by inputting a specific control signal to a data transmission through which data to be processed normally is sent. CONSTITUTION:A signal S to be sent consists of a data period TD where signal pulses 56 are consecutive and a pause period TP where no signal pulse 56 exists. Then a capacitor C1 is charged by a power voltage Vcc at the pause period TP and since the output of a control section 11 is at an H level, the H level is maintained at all times. Moreover, the capacitor C1 is discharged but the degree of it is kept not to be discharged out at the data period TD. Thus, a device controller 50 is reset by giving a signal of L level for a period sufficient to complete the discharge of the capacitor C1.
