PURPOSE:To make it possible to absorb a compressive force in another direction and also absorb a compressive force which is further generated by heat expansion so as to apply a tensile force in a constant direction by forming slits on the front/back surfaces of a shadow mask in the direction crossed to that in which the compressive force is applied. CONSTITUTION:Lateral frames 11, 12 made of an L-shaped steel, with a predetermined length are faced to each other and connected to each other by U-shaped vertical frames 21, 22. Then, the lateral frames 11, 12 are fixed to the vertical frames 21, 22 by welding and mounted in an X-ray tube. When a tensile force is applied in one direction of a shadow mask 31, a compressive or expansive force applied in the direction crossed to that in which the tensile force is applied (orthogonally, in most cases) is made to be absorbed by slits formed on the front/back surfaces of the shadow mask 31. Therefore, in the shadow mask with a structure where a tensile force is simply applied in one direction, the whole heat expansion can be absorbed. Thus, the shadow mask of an X-ray tube used for the high precise display can be obtained.
