PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in storage stability and useful as a curing agent for, e.g., a saturated polyester resin, by diluting an organic peroxide with a mixture of a normally flowable unsaturated alkyd with, optionally, a normally solid unsaturated alkyd. CONSTITUTION:A normally flowable unsaturated alkyd (a) is obtained by mixing a saturated dibasic acid (i) such as azelaic acid or sebacic acid with an unsaturated dibasic acid (ii) such as maleic anhydride or fumaric acid, and a glycol (iii) such as ethylene glycol or propylene glycol at a molar ratio of about 1:1:2, and the mixture is condensed by heating. Separately, a normally solid unsaturated alkyd (b) is obtained by mixing and reacting a saturated dibasic acid (i') such as phthalic anhydride or isophthalic acid with component (ii) and component (iii) in the same manner as that of the above. Component (a) is mixed with component (b) at an (a) to (b) weight ratio of 100-20/0-80 to obtain a mixture (B) as a diluent. 1-10wt.% organic peroxide (A) (e.g., peroxide) is diluted with component B.
