PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of machining efficiency of NC machine tool by mounting a large tool on a pallet then transferring the pallet onto a table of machine and replacing the tool automatically through relative feeding motion between the spindle of tool and the table. CONSTITUTION:A pallet 14 mounting a large tool 30 is transferred through a pallet replacing device 34 onto a table 22 of an NC machine tool 20, and the large tool 30 is replaced automatically between the spindle 48 of tool and the pallet 14 through relative feeding motion between the spindle 48 of tool and the table 22. Furthermore, a means for containing the tool 30 arranged on the table 22 while adjoining to a machining area is moved in the machining area through a moving means so as to replace the tool 30 automatically between the spindle 48 of tool and the tool 30. When such operation is repeated, a new tool 30 on the pallet 14 moves to the containing means and an unnecessary tool in the containing means moves onto the pallet 14. The pallet 14 on the table 22 mounting the unnecessary large tool 30 is carried to an arranging section of pallet stocker 10. |
